Frequently asked questions
QWhat ages is Lento for?
Children from kindergarten through the upper years of primary school. Each story comes in L1 (grades 1–2), L2 (grades 3–4) and L3 (grades 5–6), and we recommend stories based on the grade and English level you shared at sign-up.
You can switch the level of any story when you choose it.
QDoes Lento cost anything?
Everything is free for now. If we introduce paid plans, we'll tell you in advance, and you'll only be charged if you agree.
QCan siblings share one account?
Yes. Add each child under Parent Zone › Manage children. Reading records, conversations and parent letters are kept separately for each child.
Set a child PIN if you'd like to keep siblings out of each other's space.
QWhen do parent letters arrive?
In weeks when your child uses Lento, we send a letter about your child's week every Friday evening (Korea time). No letter is sent in weeks without activity.
You can reread letters anytime in Parent Zone › Letter, and choose whether to get them by email in My Page › Notifications.
QWhat happens to the letter if my child didn't use Lento much that week?
Lento doesn't push your child to use it more than your child wants to. If there's no activity in a week, we don't generate a report — we wait for more moments to gather instead. If there's a little activity, we write a short letter from what's actually there.
QCan I install Lento like an app?
Yes. On iPhone, open lento.kids in Safari and tap Share › "Add to Home Screen". On Android, open the Chrome menu and tap "Install app" (or "Add to Home screen").
Once installed, Lento opens without the browser bar, and you can control audio from the lock screen.
QWill I see exactly what my child said?
Things your child shares while reading may be quoted in letters. Anything your child calls a secret is not shown.
But if your child seems to be in real distress or danger, we will always tell you, even if it was called a secret. Your child is told about this promise during onboarding.
QWhat are safety alerts, and can I turn them off?
If your child says something during a conversation that suggests your child may be in serious distress or danger, we alert you right away by email and push notification. These alerts protect your child, so they can't be turned off.
AI can be wrong. If you get an alert, talk with your child calmly, and seek professional help if needed.
QI forgot my parent PIN.
On the PIN screen, tap "Forgot your PIN?" and confirm your account email and password to create a new PIN.
If you only sign in with Google or a passkey and don't have a password, email us at the address above.
QI can't sign in or forgot my password.
Tap "Forgot password?" on the sign-in screen and enter your email to get a reset link.
If you signed up with Google, use the Google button instead of a password.
QCan we switch a story between Korean and English?
In the reader, open Settings › Reading language and choose Korean, British English or American English. For stories with narration, the audio switches too.
Some stories or languages don't have narration yet; in that case only the text changes.
QHow do I save or delete stories my child made?
In My Stories, tap Select, choose stories and save them as a PDF.
Stories moved to the trash can be restored for 15 days before they're permanently deleted. Parents are notified when a story is moved to the trash.
QHow do I delete my child's data or close my account?
Delete a child under Parent Zone › Manage children. You can undo for 15 days; after that we send you a farewell letter about your time together and then delete the data.
To close your account, go to Parent Zone › Settings › Close account. You can cancel for 15 days; after that we send a final letter for each child and then delete everything.
If a child is in danger right now
Don't wait for our reply. In Korea, call 112 (police) or 1388 (youth counselling) straight away.
